Blog userbility and functionality update

Molmam.blogspot.com has been in existence for just over 7 months now! Since its inception till today, we have seen it change from just a place to post tribe events pictures to a mini-portal where we can get in touch with family by being encouraged by the various testimonies we here about each other's lives. It has also become a platform where for us to encourage and affirm each other through our Christian walk.

So far, we now have a consistent hit rate of 350-400 hits per week. I think that is quite incredible considering we started out with almost no knowledge on creating a blog! So give yoruself a pat on the back, all those of you who have helped in one way or another to get us here today. Molmam.blogspot.com is constantly undergoing refinement and upgrading as we learn more about how to put technology to good use for us in building the Kingdom of God. As of today, we have set up a tribe photo archive on Flickr, we have a Upcoming Events listing, Pastor's reflections, reflections and teachings from important tribe events, a Song Showcase, a banner that constantly updates to reflect the season of our tribe and just added yesterday, a Podcast feed to our weekly sermon and a live link to the Updated Events listing (clicking on each event brings you to the event details on the youthnetadmin blog).

We are in the midst of working on molmam.blogspot.com ver2 and hope to launch in about 3 week's time. The new blog will be based on Blogger beta and have a more organised template so that you can access what you want easier, a more consistent blog banner yet keeping the changeable one (I have this idea of finally compiling all into a book which will then become a pictorial reflection of the seasons God has brought us through as a tribe.

The new blog will also allow you to access past posts easily as all posts will be categorised into different labels. So, for example, if you click on Pastor's Reflections, it will bring you to all of the posts which were on pastor's reflections.

Lastly, the most significant change will be a one stop Resource area where you will be able to access all the materials and tools that would help you in your Christian walk and also in leading your open cell. With this, we will be launching in stages, a section introducing and reviewing christian books on different topics for your spiritual growth, a section for ice-breaker ideas and a section perhaps on interest groups within our tribe (for eg, photography, tennis, jogging, graphic design etc) so that we have more opportunities to get together and bring our friends along too!

In order to get all these going, I will need a bigger team than I already have now. So, I am asking for volunteers who are interested to be part of this exciting project. I am looking for people who like to write, people who are blog savvy, people who have an interest in design, people who like to be filmed and also others who like to film others and people who are full of holy craziness! If you are interested, drop me an email at slj_tribe@yahoo.com.sg. What's in it for you? You get to spend time learning from me (ha ha) and be part of a dynamic team that will seek out technology to further extend the Kingdom of God on this earth! :) Oh yes, and did I say you will be one of the previledged few to learn from me? :)

Finally, we are doing all these for all of YOU. So my team and I would like very much to hear what are some of the feedback you might have in terms of how the blog has been useful for you. What do you think would help make this a better blog for us to link up online as a family? Do you have a wish list? Write it down under the comments page. (click on the title of this blog entry and it will bring you to a page where you can pen down your feedback.)

With that, here's a sneak preview of what to expect!
