Smog Attack! - PSI Hits All Time High of 130!

SINGAPORE: Singapore's air quality enters unhealthy range with 3-hour PSI of 130 on Saturday at 10am .

This is the highest PSI reading for the year. Satellite pictures on Thursday showed 228 hotspots in Sumatra. Southwesterly winds have carried the smoke northeast to neighbouring Malaysia, Singapore and even parts of southern Thailand.

KUALA LUMPUR : The worsening haze in and around Kuala Lumpur has forced many Malaysians to stay indoors, as the air quality sinks to unhealthy levels. Hospitals are on high alert for a potential surge in respiratory infections and cases of conjunctivitis.

The forecast is for more haze-filled days ahead, and Malaysians are now hoping isolated thunderstorms and showers will bring some much needed relief. - Channel News Asia

To everyone who's reading this: Let's rally behind our region and keep our entire region in prayer. The haze is getting out of control. Authorities claim that the haze will be washed away mid-October when the monsoons start to come in, but let's not wait till then!
Let's believe that our God is the God of the NOW, and that indeed miracles can happen and that He can redeem this problem, and that people in our region will come to see that.

Let's pray for our entire region (South-East Asia: Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore) that indeed God will deliver us from the haze.

  • Pray that God will send rain to douse the forest fires and wash out the smog
  • Pray for God to protect all of us, as reports have said, a surge in respitory infections and conjunctivitis is expected

Let's really cry out to God to deliver us from this. My aunt from Kuala Lumpur is currently staying at my place for a few days. She says it's really bad up there and many people are falling ill. School has even been cancelled up there. Let's not take this lightly and rally together now and start praying before this situation escalates.

Back in the SARS period, nobody took it seriously initially with the occurances of fevers here and there. People took it lightly intially, at least I speak for myself. I only took it seriously when it burst into a full scale epidemic. Brothers and sisters, let's not take this haze lightly. Our prayer can make a difference! Believe that and pray NOW!
