A Gift of Life - Shenyang and beyond

(This was pastor's report on the first day of MOL in Shenyang last Thursday.)

MOL in Shenyang launched off today with a great start. Every single trick, from the simple to the great, was received with great responses from the crowd. The students were riveted to their seats as they were mesmerized by the magic and the magicians. They cheered and clapped readily throughout the performance.

After the show, many female students screamed when they saw SP in person. It was just so heartwarming to see this reception for SP. Indeed SP’s fan club has been birthed!

As this is the first show, many press, media and VIPs were also among the audience. The VIPs included the Gen Sec of Communist Youth, Gen Sec of the Uni, Principals, etc. They were full of praises for the show.

Despite this being the only full run for the show, due to Pris’ condition, there was very little hitches involved.

Thanks for the prayer too, Pris recovered well and fast enough to go through the entire show. Please continue to pray for protection for the wellbeing of the entire crew and team.

God has been blessing us with warmer than usual weather so far. Even the officials here recognized that we have favor from above.

Please continue to pray for favor and grace from God that the momentum would climax on Monday (last show) and that this would result in future collaboration in touching and blessing the uni students. In fact, Gen Sec of Communist youth, Mr Soon, expressed interest to have SP back to interact with uni students as well as community. We just need to see this intention translated into action plans. - CSL

I am personally very encouraged to hear this report from pastor. I am even more glad for SP as this has always been his heart. That MOL might touch and transform lives with its story about the love between a father and his child.

I remember there were times I personally doubted how MOL could be used. I would think to myself, “Can meh? There are so many magic acts out there already. You mean we can compete with the likes of David Copperfield?” I think our success in Shenyang speaks volumes. So often, when you watch the video reports of MOL overseas, you hear people say that they have seen many magic shows but this is different. There is something about it that touches their lives. I am sure, beyond the deeply moving father-child love story, it is the Holy Spirit at work bringing healing to many people’s lives.

Of course, I have since repented of my disbelief. I am proud of SP because he kept on being obedient to what God had placed upon his heart, even if he faced discouragements all around. I think that is something we all need to learn to do. God’s approval mattered to him more than man’s approval ever would. That’s what I call being a “man after God’s own heart”.

Well, most of you would know that MOL Christmas is coming. If God can touch the lives of those in Shenyang so powerfully, I’m sure He can do the same here. Already, I am hearing reports from one of my 12 that more than 20 of his friends have agreed to come. Hallelujah! Buy your tickets now. Grab them. This’ the season to witness God’s salvation upon His people. Amen!
