Thank God. It's Friday.

How has your week been? So the weekend is round the corner. You have been heavy-laden and weary throughout the week. You have hit a trough in your life. You are at your wit's end and the weekend presents a vista of reprieve and an opportunity of a turn-around. I suppose I am in this category.

The past week has been one marked with disappointment and pain for me. I had to endure the experience of giving up my dream job. But I still thank God for He is no more than a heartbeat away even as I relate to him my hopes and fears. Along the week, I found more thanksgiving:

I thank God for...

1. reassuring me He is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that I ask or think (Eph 3:20).
2. this period of testing as He reveals the sinful condition of my heart.
3. His precious grace in which I stand (Rom 5:2).
4. the love of God poured out into my heart through the Holy Spirit (Rom 5:5).
5. standing firm against the schemes of the evil one in arousing resentment against God (Eph 6:11).
6. strengthening my inner man with power through His Spirit (Eph 3:16).
7. His will for me to give thanks (1 The 5:18).

There must be more thanksgiving that I have not mentioned because I have been slow to understand His abounding grace for me.

So what can you thank God for this week? For a start, we can thank God for it's Friday.
