Good Tidings We Bring!

A BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE IN SJ TRIBE!!!!

Well, most of us were down counting down to Christmas at Orchard Road this year. I'm not sure about you, but it was certainly a tremendously beautiful sight watching all of you and your friends in balloons hats singing carols while the rest of Orchard Road watched on and participated. There are many things to thank God for, this year at Christmas@Orchard 2006. Look out for that in the next post. For now, here's something else from not too long ago!

Bringing Christmas Blessings to the North

On the 17th Dec 2006, Cluster 5 (strength of about 50) went down to Yishun SAFRA to bring Christmas cheer. This was done in conjunction with SAFRA’s December fair taking place at the main lobby. A simple stage was set up for the short ‘performance’. Almost a month long of briefing, preparation and practice led to this very exciting day of bringing blessings to the NORTH. Due to the weather, the crowd at SAFRA was not as much as expected. However, symbolically Cluster 5 was like an extension of the entire Christmas@Orchard group bringing the blessings of God’s love into the NORTH.

It was a very hectic day started with morning service @ EXPO, followed by combined cluster training @ TOUCH centre. Many came back from overseas but all chipped in to make it a success. Our dear Kenneth & Esther acted as Joseph & Mary to bring out the Christmas story. (Note: “Joseph” in jeans and sport shoes)

I like to appreciate everyone from Cluster 5 for putting in all the effort to make things work. A month ago, I honestly could not quite picture we can pull off this event. Looking back, I can only say man obeyed and God works through us. As I looked at the choir formed up on stage, I must say," I’m so proud of all of you." I felt the contagious excitement from each of you at the end of the session. I was excited to share the message of Christmas at SAFRA lobby itself, believing that if there is only ONE person who will hear it and find out more about this God, it is all worth it. Let’s gear ourselves up for the next battle. I’m excited!!!!

Special thanks to…..
- Kelvin Yee, our choir trainer and conductor
- Kenneth & Esther for chipping in last minute as Joseph & Mary
- Tiong Nam & Amy for being around despite all the inconvenience, I like your training for “Wordless book”
- Cami for consolidation training
- Lance for all the games led
- Jedidiah for rallying all the leaders
- Twinkle for settling much of the admin
- Johnston for narrating
- Jachin & Joel for playing the wonderful music
- Mary & John for your support in big and small ways
- Fion for bringing a lovely bunch of kids
- Everyone else for bringing so much joy and cheer.

Dear Lay Ching,

Thanks for your encouragement! This event has been an amazing experience of me where God demonstrated His faithfulness throughout even as i struggled to avail myself to be part of it due to my national service commitments. Indeed God never fails and all we need is a willing heart and He will answer!

It was such a joy to see the entire paragon stretch being touched by our act of kindness and personally it was my dream come through as i watched them flaunt and wear funky balloon hats...

Thru this, i've grown closer to and understand our spiritual family more, especially when we were fighting our way back to youthpark! Think symbolically thats what family is about - holding one another's hands, braving the storms and the harmful sprays that Lou. C. Furr attacks us with!

I thank God for you. Although many (including myself) cannot fully understand and see the sacrifices that you have made to make this event a success!

On behalf of Joshua and guys, thank you many much!!!

With Love,
Charles Tan

Dear all,
Yes must say that I've thoroughly enjoyed myself too. More
significantly besides the fun, I really felt a closer friendship being
bonded among us during these 2 months with all the practices and all. Thank
God for all of you, esp to the 3 leaders: Sook San, Layching, Joshua.

May He draw us closer. Amen.
Blessings,
Wai Leng
