And You Sing……

Name above all names
You are worthy of all praise
My heart will sing how great is our God

This is part of a familiar song we so frequently sing. And each time I sing it, the line that really stands out is “Name above all names”. The name of JESUS is above every other name and many times, we will proclaim this name when the worship leader rallies us all to give a mighty shout at Expo.

I thank God for showing me beyond the enthusiasm and decibel. There is much deeper meaning to this name because it is the name that is above every other name.

Acts chapter three tells of a crippled beggar who caught the attention of Peter and John at the temple gate.

6Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." 7Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. 8He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

The name of Jesus is powerful. It reigns above all other names and it heals! Be it the name of darkness or fear, failure or insecurity, poverty or rejection, we can lift up the name of Jesus above those circumstances.

How about you? Are there certain names that you hold on that bring about entanglements to your life? I know I have. And I pray that everyday, regardless of the circumstances; we can truly say “Jesus, we enthrone You!

Amen sister!

Indeed the name of the Lord is really great. I always remember that those who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Our God is an awesome God.

Truly, I think we all need to check ourselves when we claim to be worshipping God. "Amplificiation vs. Depth" Which is more important? Just something for us to think about.
