This is a wonderful entry that i wanted to share with all of you. An entry abstracted from Pastor Yeang Cherng’s Blog. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for it too.
I have combined it with a report from SP's tea with the educators and the take aways' of those who went. I hope this would encourage the Teachers among us and as well as the students. Lets Pray walk the places.
To begin it, allow me to share something I read about PrayerWalking: Praying on Site with Insight. PRAYERWALKING allows us to see the needs and "lostness" of our neighborhoods and cities. It helps focus our prayers on these needs and on the spiritual bondage and blindness of people without Jesus.
"Deuteronomy 11:24 Every place where you set your foot will be yours
Following the 100k campaign, we will be embarking on praying for our land - specifically for us in YouthNet, for all the schools and educational institutions in Singapore.
Education shapes our minds, leads us to the Creator of all knowledge and truth. Young minds shaped to recognize God’s hand in schools become humble with a thirst for knowledge - in order to know the Infinite God.
Yet this starts when christians all over head God’s voice and start to pray for our schools. Teachers, students, parents, all who bear God’s heartbeat for the land.
Here’s a sample plan for a 25-min prayer walk
1. Worship & enthrone Jesus as you walk about your school. Welcome the Holy Spirit into your school (5 mins)
2. Speak and bless the leadership, key appointment holders of the school/s by name, MOE, NIE (1 Tim 2:1-3) (5 mins)
3. Bless the students of the school, pray for the knowledge of God to fill their minds and hearts (5 mins)
4. Dedicate yourself & your work to the Lord. You are a minister in the school (5 mins)
5. Find a place to sit and listen to the Holy Spirit speak to you. Journal down (5 min)
Other Pointers
1. This is a simple act of blessing our schools as teachers. Do not make it into a public affair & raise unnecessary attention.
2. You can get fellow believing teachers to join you and pray in pairs or threes.
3. God wants to bless your school! So enjoy the time and prayerwalk with Jesus
4. Inform your G12 Leader for accountability
HAB 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."

Kenneth Tan, Secondary School Teacher and Subject Head for Pupil Development
My takeaways were in these 3 areas:
1) Education is never neutralIt is dependent on the belief system of the educator. My response is thus to formulate a correct and holy belief system based on the word of God, so that I will impact many lives with God's truth and light rather than my own beliefs and morals. (Scripture support - Acts 17, Rom 1:22-25)
2) The importance of teachersLuke 6:39-40 "... A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher." Teachers reproduce after their kind! My greatest joy is to see my pupils taking up the cross and following Jesus. My prayer is that I will produce good fruits and fruits that will last!
3) My Commitment to God and what I will do?
1. Be a man or woman of God
2. Be a great teacher
3. Be a gate keeper in my place of influence!
4. Be a gate opener for the Lord
5. Be a prayer warrior for my school and my students
Tan Lay Leng, Primary School Counsellor
The gathering of the warriors of light in the teaching profession was both an awesome and encouraging sight to me. The whole auditorium, almost full, lit up with hope and eagerness to hear Pastor Khong speak. I am one of the warriors in this whole army for the Lord! My heart welled up in anticipation. I have been looking forward to this session, desiring to devour pearls of wisdom on how to make a difference in my school, and I was not disappointed.
Having battled some persecution of faith in school, I was delighted when one of the teachers asked about the sensitive issue of bringing our students to church. Pastor's exhortation was powerful and compelling. He emphasized that we should pursue excellence in whatever we do. We should strive to be the Best Educator we can be, wherever we are planted. For then we will win favour, command authority and thus expand our area of influence as gate keepers and gate openers for the Lord!
When one of the retired teachers shared of how she had arranged for three bus loads of students to attend an evangelistic outreach by our church, I marvelled at God's big heart of love for the children and His favour on her.
I left the session with renewed courage to made a positive impact in the lives that God has placed in my hands. Praise the Lord.
Ong Lay Ching, Secondary School Teacher
It was a meaningful and engaging session, having the opportunity to hear from Senior Pastor on his views on how teachers in FCBC can make an impact for the Lord in education. My personal takeaway is definitely a renewed desire and determination to be excellent in all my duties and undertakings as a teacher and to be the best English and History teacher the Lord has designed me to be. Being an effective teacher in the classroom is one of the most basic and important platform that I can operate from. Last but not least, my heart is touched by the passion and determination of Pastor Khong to take the marketplace for the Lord.
Lee Sook San, Primary School Teacher and Head of Department for Science
Thank God for the time that Pastor Khong has taken out to meet with the educators. The most beneficial parts that I take home with encompass the following:
1) Four levels of involvement in the marketplace
This has shook me up to see that being in level two - where I try to apply biblical principle at my work place – is all that is done. But when Pastor Khong shared the need for us to rise above that and to bring transformation to the market place, it caused me to realise that I've been contented at where I am for too long. So I need to rise up to do God's business in my market place.
2) Being ExcellentThough Pastor Khong has not been a teacher nor been very familiar with the constraints faced by teachers, the principles he shared were excellent:
- To build up the relationship and rapport
- To be EXCELLENT in what we do, so as to bring forth respect from the others
