What Are You Busy With?

Dear family,

I've been thinking about the subject of busyness again, especially in this coming super busy Dec month.

Will God be pleased with our busyness? Wrong question.
Why are you busy? Right direction.
What are you busy with? Fulfilling others' expectations? Personal agendas? What else?

Humanly there will be a pull for rest and relaxation. There is nothing wrong with that. There is a persuasion not to be performance driven thus I should not work so hard, etc. Maybe you don’t think so much. Maybe you did and chose to resign to the situation. Maybe you are still thinking.

I was brought to a very interesting passage in the Bible:

18Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" Immediately the tree withered.

20When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. "How did the fig tree wither so quickly?" they asked.

21Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

Matt21:18-22

What is the point? Are you fruitful? Jesus judged the fig tree that was not fruitful. There is enough text elsewhere in the Bible that tells us we will be judged on our faithfulness to our giftings and talents. Thus the whole idea of fruitfulness is biblical. We should ask some hard question – Am I fruitful this year?

Yet the whole point here was Jesus training of His disciples about prayer. When you believe, you will receive.

So you see, the whole idea is that our fruitfulness is very much dependent on our faith.

Be busy in work. BUT have faith in God; that your work WILL produce fruit for the King.

We should not be busy for busy sake. Stress in busyness can be intoxicating! Rather, we should be meaningfully busy in bearing fruits of faith in God. We should do what we need to do with faith in God for His outcome. Believe and you will receive.

Have a meaningful busy Dec. BUT bear fruits of righteousness in your being. Bear fruits for the KING

I wish all of you a blessed Fruitful Christmas. You are the reason for Christmas!
