10 by 24 : "Receive fully, Give lavishly."

Of Sonship…
Throngs of people flocked to respond to the altar call, a call to respond to the love of God, to the sonship that He has given to us.

Tears welled up within me as Ps Melvyn shared during last Sunday's service about his journey of having to perform in order to ‘merit’ the love and approval of the people that truly mattered. It was a journey that many of us, including myself, can identify.

How can I appropriate this sonship that has already been given to me?

The key is to DWELL in Him Daily; in knowing the heart of the Father.

A son is able to embrace his sonship when he comes in the presence of his father, hearing the word of his father…

"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

Of Surrender…
The ultimate surrender is self… something that grasped me… why must I surrender? What’s wrong in my life that I need to surrender?

So carnal, isn’t it?

Yet so true of my life. My rights, my thoughts, my…that I have missed the point that until I surrender, I can never be a part of Him.

v6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, v7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. v8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross!

The word of God for me this year is to receive his love fully (Sonship); and to give lavishly in love ( in surrendering of my rights)… just like the alabaster jar that is filled with the sweet perfume of God, as it is being filled, it can be poured out lavishly, in sweet aroma to the King.

May our lives be a living testimony of His love and faithfulness, as He poured His love and as we poured it back to Him.

“… I serve a God, who is faithful and true
I will hide in the shelter of your wings
For I find my rest, in your faithfulness
Yes I serve a faithful God…”
