Fight For Joy

"Christianity is war." Everyday we contend with work and circumstances that clamour for our attention and ensnare us from doing the purposes of God. No wonder we find it impossible to live the Christian life and put up a good fight. As we begin the Year of Victory, I thought even as a warrior of light is called to bring light into the marketplace and homes, he is powerless in his ministry if his joy is sapped by his afflictions and fixations with the world. In enduring hardships of the many military campaigns ahead, we sure need supernatural gifting of joy from the Lord, so that we might say "the joy of the Lord is my strength". In sustaining our feeble souls, we need to hunger for the mighty presence of the Lord in the secret place, which will make us glad.

O God satisfy us every morning with Your lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
