Walking in Righteousness

Know God's Standard!
Living right with the breastplate of righteousness
Eph 6:10-18

The message by Pastor comes at a right time for me. It is a strong reminder to me and many of us that every darkness and sin in our life is an open door for the devil to use against us.

To recap what Pastor shared with us:
Eph 4:17-5:17
How can we walk in righteousness?

1. To put off the old self - saying no to sin
...former way of life...
V17-19...living...in the futility of your mind...hardening of the heart...lost all sensitivity...indulge in impurity...ignorant

- Take of all these garbage and put them off like dirty clothing.

John 11:4 - Jesus said...take off the grave clothings and let them go...

- Recognise attitudes in the past adn remove them as we cannot wear clothing for a dead person.

- Sense of rejection - surrender it and cut it off
James 1:21..rid yourself of any immorality... (Continued...)

2. To be renewed in the mind- to be made new in the attitude and spirit of your mind

- Don't just change your ways....be renewed...because wrong thinking results in wrong living, Rom 12:2...be transformed by the renewing of the mind...

- Devil downplays sin as weakness, we cannot downplay sin.
Example: Rom 1 - homosexuality....man does not give glory to God for creation...God gave them away...and they gave themselves up to sexual depravity.

- Let God impart His truth into our lifes.

3. To put on the new self-Live like the Lord Jesus would live

- We are to be like God and put on the Lord Jesus
Rom 13:12-14...clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ...

- Being holy is more than just not sinning, but to live our lives patterned after Jesus.

- Don't just get rid of darkness but embrace the light.

Our anger against should not become sinful anger.

Pastor yet again has emptied himself and became transparent, sharing from a position of weakness and of conviction.

His call for all of us to Walk Right comes in the season of going deep.
The true essence of going deep is to be Holy and to be set apart!!

Let us respond by going before the throne of grace today. Appeal for the mercy of God to renew your mind as you put off your old self and put on the new self which is Jesus Christ!!

Then may you see yourself being led in TRIUMPHANT procession in this the year of victory!!
