Reflections from Tribe Camp

It was my first experience in tribe camp, and I just want to thank God for blessing me with a great time with my spiritual family and having that quality time just to seek His heart and enjoy His presence. God worked mightily in me during all the ministry sessions and I just felt His unfailing love filling my heart every time I went up to the front to be prayed for. Thank God for showing me how to persevere, to be patient and to work together as a family not only in the event ‘Red Alert’ but also as an application in my life. I also want to thank Him for giving me the opportunity to honour my earthly and spiritual fathers not only on Father’s day, but in each day of my life.

On the first day, Pastor Seng Lee preached about the 3 reasons why we should rise up as Warriors. God reminded me that the Devil is constantly challenging us and he is everywhere. We have to make a choice to either be victims or Victors, worriers or Warriors and we can only rely on God alone to be free. We are also created and called to be warriors of God for God is a warrior Himself and we have to endure the hardship together to claim the victory for only in God, we can be victorious.

The next day was just amazing. We started the day with Pastor Jo sharing her devotion with us and ended with our campfire. God has showed me that He has given us the best, thus he will give us the good as well for He is mighty and able. We were given 3 questions to answer at the end of the devotion:
1. What is God saying to me?
2. What am I doing about it?
3. What is the blessing that I want to receive from Him during these 3 days?

My answers were: (Read on...)

1. God was prompting me about Matthew 28: 19-20 which says:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age.”

This verse touched my heart as I am affirmed that God will use me mightily and rise me up as a warrior in Christ and to also trust in Him that He will never forsake me in whatever circumstances I am facing because I am a son of God. He also reminded me what was my condition of my heart, be it in the 100k blessing 5k warrior challenge or when I am listening to a sermon.

2. I have been praying to Him daily, asking Him to give me more time to do my quiet time with Him as I am in an adjustment period of handling my projects. I have also prayed to seek His heart, so that He will reveal His will for me and to carry out His wonderful and perfect plan He has for me.

3. The blessing that I wanted to receive from Him was to know more about God, to get to know my spiritual family better, and to give me a heart of compassion and to constantly renew my mind that it is not by my own might and power but by His spirit that I am able to go forth and bless other people.

I had a great time during the campfire, but what touched me most was during the end of the campfire where we lit each others’ candles for I was struck with the question on how we are shining our light in the kingdom of God. I was reminded that we are the light of the world and we can be a light to the people around us too.

Tribe camp has indeed been a huge blessing for me and I want to end of by thanking God for 2 things as I want to give God all the glory for the wonderful things He has done. I want to thank God for my group leader, Lay Ching and my group Nehemiah for being such a blessing to me and also thank God for making us the salt of the earth and the light to the world!
