One week after the Boys Brigade (BB) Awards Presentation Ceremony, we the 99th Singapore Company travelled to the other side of Singapore to attend our annual BB and GB (Girls Brigade) Dedication Service at FCBC.
The enrolment service was a good opportunity for the Boys and the Girls in the companies to see the church body, not unlike children visiting their uncles, aunties and cousins during festive seasons. In addition, it was a time when the church body gets to see who they have been sponsoring. To the Boys in our company, it is also a time of reunion with our tribe as they have just attended the tribe camp a couple of weeks ago. A “Hi” here and a “Hello” there brought warmth and smiles all around. After the service, some of the Boys were even sitting in comfortably with the cells as the leaders helped them to recall what was shared during the sermon. Zhi Zhong, one of the ex-BB Boys, was one of them.
Looking at the Boys, I stand amazed at how God has brought these Boys close to our hearts. To see their lives transformed and them growing up in Christian manliness is really our prayer. We yearn to see them going forth to bless others as they themselves have been blessed. All these blessings would not have been possible without the partnership of our spiritual family. Thank you, dear brothers and sisters, for the welcomes shown to the Boys, the words of affirmation spoken to Boys and officers, the friendships built, the help rendered for the different BB activities over these three years. Because of you, we are not just a BB company, we are part of a family.
