Called to be Champions!

The TODAY Newspaper featured our very dear SP on its Thursday issue! It's s fantastic blessing that SP is able to represent Singapore to play polo at the SEA Games. What a year of victory! Let's continue to pray for good health and protection to be upon SP and His family.

As I read the article, my heart swelled with pride for SP. At his age, doing what he is doing, it is simply amazing. I believe all this could happen because he chose to obey God in every part of his life. Think about it, many of us struggle with doing what we have passion for (eg. a sport or a hobby or our job) and building the kingdom of God. Here is a Godly man who gave himself to preaching the Good News and making disciples of all nations. And God has opened the doors for him to represent Singapore internationally in a sport that he enjoys playing. Doesn't that just speak of the Lord's faithfulness? Read on...

Sometimes, we get the idea that God is this person who enjoys seeing us suffer for Him. The more we give up on the things we love, the happier He is. How far from the truth that is! The Bible tells us in Romans 8:32, "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" and in Matthew 7:11, "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"

God desires to bless us! And to bless us much more than we can ever think or imagine. However, God also does not want us to treat Him like a genie. He loves us too much to allow that. He wants us to ask of Him the things that are on His heart! He knows best what is good for us at any particular point of time in our lives. We need to grow to know His heart for us, so that we know how and when to ask of Him. That's why Psalms 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart." God is not slow to bless. Many times, we are the ones who are slow to align ourselves to His will in our lives.

Isn't the God of SP the same God that we know and worship? If you truly believe that, then you need to ask in faith of the Lord for the victories in your life! Do you still believe that 2007 is the Year of Victory for you of have you gone into a "live life as it comes" mode? What were the things that you wrote on your warrior matrix? The Lord doesn't forget what we bring before Him. But perhaps you have. Take out your warrior matrix today. Put it in front of your work desk. Begin to claim those promises in faith and seek the Lord to do something different for the rest of the year - something that demonstrates your faith rather than your human logic. We are called to be Champions, let's start living like one.

Personally, I was struck by this that the Lord revealed during the Ministry Team Training recently. Do we know God's power in our lives? If we don't, what right do we have to tell the rest of the world about it? Not telling is NOT the solution. The only other alternative is to experience God's power in your life today! That is my sincere prayer and cry to the Lord. May it be yours too!
