The very thing that stirs up my spirit during the sermon is Pastor Tsukahira’s desire to be GREAT in the kingdom of God. “To be great in the kingdom of God” is a revelation for me. I know I am a subject in the kingdom, yet to be great for God, it is something that is new to me. Perhaps what my mind has been preoccupied with very often is how to be great in the kingdom of man.
What sets me thinking during the course of the sermon is what is my attitude fulfilling the word of God? The word of God says “I never knew you; depart from me, you worker of lawlessness.” (Matt7: 23)
The following questions raced through my mind.
o Have I been practising lawlessness?
o Do I know the commandments or the laws of God?
o Am I a practitioner of His commandments?
o Have I also believed in the lie that the Grace of God nullifies the laws of God?
God help me and free me from every work of deception because Jeremiah 17: 9 says “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”
I certainly do not want to end up in the most horrific situation where I think I am following God but to have God declaring to me eventually that “I never knew you; depart from me, you worker of lawlessness.”
How then must I live my life?
1. Get back to the word of God! It will be well worth the time spent for the word of God endures forever. I am setting aside time to be reading 2 chapters of Deuteronomy daily in my time with God.
2. Be active in drawing up applications because I am called not just to be “hearer” but “doer” of the word of God so that my house is built on the ROCK that will stand in challenging times especially in these last days where godlessness prevails.
