I joined SLTC with the desire to learn more and go deeper in the Lord, as I was called to lead the camp, I agreed without much hesitation. To be able to serve the Lord is always my desire and as I give, God has blessed me with much more.
While preparing for my examinations, we had our first meeting 1 week before the camp. I remember completing my last paper with my mind full of the possible locations for our camp. Being the OIC is indeed an interesting task, working with different people and ensuring that different tasks are completed. For me, these cannot be done by my own strength and capability. I drew closer to the Lord and cried out to Him whenever I was lost and God never failed to come alongside me. [...]
I am also very glad to work with Amos and Timothy for this camp. They gave me a lot of useful advice and modeled for me what it means to be a spiritual leader. I remember one setting when Amos shared that being a spiritual leader means making time to prepare, availing ourselves to give our best to the Lord.
Pastor always shared that we will make time for what is important. I have learnt to die to my own desires and rights to allow Jesus to take the throne in my life, making time to spend with God, read his word slowly and disciple the sons God has bless me with.
My Applications:
1. Spend time with at least one of the boys individually, outside cell group, once a week.
2. Read the word of God slowly, chewing on it, and writing my learning down.
3. Spend at least 10 minutes daily memorizing the first 20 memory verses.
