When I was first asked to run the camp together with Desmond as the 2IC, I knew it wasn't going to be easy. But, of all the camps I've ran so far, I realised that this was one of the camps that made me realize, that without God, I am nothing. Work began piling up, as we started to plan for the camp. Emails began to flood in inbox-es, sms-es came in non-stop, calls kept coming in, and the deadline was approaching. I thank God for His faithfulness, never did He once, leave nor forsake me throughout this season. I remember, when I was asked to search for a place/campsite, for lodging, I didn't know where to start. I sat down and prayed, and started searching. Indeed, God is good! Just with 2 calls, I've got a place. Isn't God good? [...]
I joined SLTC, with a desire to know more about God, spiritual leadership and indeed, to go deep into His word. I thank God for the camp mentors, Amos, Timothy and Hawling. They have been always there to guide us along, on how to ensure that the camp goes on smoothly. At times, when I felt like giving up, I never fail to hear a still small voice, whispering, "Let go, let God". God has always been there, even from the night that we first booked into Green view. Many things weren't in place the first night, from the places that we're going to use, to the games.
Well, thank God for the good weather. Through this camp, I've learnt to dethrone myself, to allow God to take up the throne of my life. Pastor, asked what kind of life are we living? Was it a life of insurance, a life of blessings, or a life of active obedience? Pastor told us, that unless we have a personal relationship with God, it is impossible to obey Him!, and unless we know that the love is NOT an idea, we'll never know that God is love. God also spoke to me about the purpose for the season of my life now, and it is to rise up and lead the north view youth for Christ, to greater heights. This camp also reminded me that God, is Emmanuel.
Application :
1) To honor my parents.
2) To dethrone myself, and let God take up the seat.
3) Live life purposefully.
4) To read the word of God, slowly, and to memorize at least twenty verses.
5) To meet up with the northview christians at least twice a month.
