God showed me a mountain when pastor asked us to listen to the Holy Spirit at our first Tribe Prayer meeting for 2007. God showed me a mountain. I was at the foot of the mountain staring at the majestic mountain and asking what does it represent? It’s not an obstacle in a negative sense, but rather a challenge to conquer. Then I saw ‘G12’ on the mountain. Yes, of course, God wants me to conquer and find my 12. Sounds cliché, I thought, but yes, find my 12. For a split second, I thought of the physical mountain peaks I had conquered in Nepal, Mount K & Mount Ophir. Then I moved on and began to pray …
I have learnt to ponder and interact with the HS and He was teaching me something else. It took me the next morning to get the full picture. God asked me where I was standing with respect to the mountain… at the foot. ‘Why not at the summit of the mountain?’ Oh… yah… but that’s how I always I perceive a mountain… from the bottom and I haven’t conquer it yet. ‘Position yourself at the summit.’ From the top? I recalled again the times I was at the summits of the mountains I had climbed.
What do you do on top of the mountain? Take out the banner and take photos and declare that you have made it! It took me some time to respond with the eyes of faith to see myself at the top of mountain, you know it’s not just Mount Ophir we’ll talking about, it’s a G12 mountain! Then He gave me a word “Declare”. Another struggle, I seldom declare, I usually leave it to my husband to do such things! But ok, declare. I saw myself on the mountain top… declaring my victory that God has already given to me! And I took a (mental) picture of it!
It all clicked for me that while I have heard so much that it’s a year of victory, I have not owned it until God showed me and asked to stand on top of the mountain to declare my victory! It’s one thing to hear and another thing to own it. Where do you stand with respect to the mountain God has given to you?
