10 by 24: "Reflection on Ministry Team Training"

For those who are not aware, YouthNet is currently training a group of people from the EJ288 to be equipped and be able to serve in the area of ministering to the YouthNet family every week during the worship service.

I am privileged to be able to be part of the team and our training started with a training camp 2 weeks ago (from 12 Jan to 14 Jan 2007) and will continue on every week during service till probably in March when we are fully operational.

So much for introducing the Ministry Team, and I will like to share a few thoughts as I am undergoing this training.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Gal 5:1).

God wants to set us free, free from the past hurts and pains, free from the bondages of sins because all these have been holding us back, which have over time become the obstacles that stop us from receiving His love. As much as God’s desire is to see us being set free, there is always a step we need to take.

That step is to come before Him with an open and willing heart to allow Him to reveal to us these areas of our lives and for Him to start the healing process. We all know that Jesus has overcome all these on the cross, but have we truly experienced the victory in our lives or are we allowing ourselves to “be burdened again”? The victory has been won, all we need to do is to fight from a position of victory, claiming what Jesus had done on the cross, and living the victorious lives that God has intended for us.

I thank God that during the camp, God has set me free and I believe that you too can be set free. Why not take the first step when God convicts you during the service this week, and be open and willing to come to the altar and allow Him to start the healing process and have your first taste of victory in this year of victory?

Finally, I thank God for blessing us with such good trainers, who have given us their precious time and sharing with us their experiences, guiding us so patiently and demonstrating to us the heart of God in wanting to set us free. The trainers are none other than our very own Pastor Seng Lee, Pastor Josephine and Pastor Lily. Thank God for you all!
