First, He asked, “Are you a mere hearer of His Word?” I repented before God that I have been guilty of being just a mere hearer of His Word and not a doer of His Word. The Holy Spirit searched my heart, revealing the times that I have just listened and not do anything about what He has convicted me of. I asked God for forgiveness and prayed that God will help me to be a consistent man, matching what I say to the actions I do, else I will just be a mere hearer and be deceived (James 1:22).
Secondly, God asked me if I have given Him my best time to Him as I spent time with Him daily. Very often, many of us will just spend time with God before we sleep. I feel that God is asking me if this is the best time for Him as quite often by that time of the day, I will be very tired and thus will not give to God the full attention and focus He desires from me. I repented before God and asked Him to help me set aside the best time of my day for Him, just like Abel bringing his best offering before God which God found delight in (Genesis 4:4).
What is your best time of the day and do you offer it to God or do you use it to do your work? I know I feel the most fresh after I bathe and so I have decided to give this time to God and spend with Him. What about you?
God has spoken and has convicted many of us. What do you intend to do about it? Do not stop at just having a good intention but DO IT! Decide today that you are going to do it and work all your schedules around it, else it will just be something good waiting to happen.
