thank God it was Friday.
a little backdated, but still,
the Good Friday event went something like this..
Angus' cell group was to hold the event on their own, and so we were initially pretty anxious as to how the whole thing would turn out.
thank God for Angus who readily supplied us with the venue for the event. as well as accommodation for the night before.
D-1 DAY.
at Angus'.
on the right, u see our dedicated cell members "hard at work" on planning for the next day's activities.
D-DAY. H-4 HOURS.
preparation stage.
we dressed the place up in anticipation of our guests.
and we identified the chao-geng kias among our midst. heh heh.
and after a time of seeking the Lord in prayer.
of course, there was the necessary lunch break, too!
D-DAY H-HOUR
the arrival.
thus began the arrival of our dear guests.
we labelled them with their names, plus the one thing they wanted most in life.
so we see they want: love.. playstations.. success.. world peace.. and jessica alba. (Read on...)
Stage 2:
and then the fun begins proper!
first and foremost we definitely have..
ice-breakers!
we had Charles Tan the balloon man to lead us on..
it's aliveee.. it's aliive..!
next, they were split into 4 teams,
and then the BIG game ensued..
it was a treasure hunt of sorts, which took them through several tasks including piecing together a jig-saw puzzle, and solving 10 (*er-hrm) mind-boggling mental sums.
the hunt culminated with them searching for a mysterious car number plate.
and then it was back to the function room for..
dinner!
yum yum, must be hungry from all the running around.
and to top it off,
we had some after-meal entertainment courtesy of..
Angus Sham and Luke Wee the professional dancers!
our guests definitely enjoyed it!
but wait, the best is yet to come,
it was time for the highlight of the day..
our very own skit!
introducing..
Mr. S. A. Tan!
and all his evil schemes to trap us!
then we ended off with 2 testimonies,
simple yet powerful.
we proceeded to watch an excerpt from a video reenactment of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
and then it was up to Angus to give the altar call..
Ps Sham says, yes, i see ur hand..
and praise be to God! we had 4 salvations that evening!
WHAT i have learnt through the event is simply this:
salvation is the Lord's.
no point in worrying too much about the event itself.
after we have done all we can, scrappy as it may be,
as long as God shows up, that is all that matters.
and finally,
all's well that ends well..
happy faces all around
means that
our guests would hopefully not be forgetting this Good Friday event for a long time.
