Be A 7:15 Blessing
Imagine our city abuzz with the voice of hope in Jesus' love. Imagine Christians living in the same housing block, or working in the same office block, coming together to bless our city - the prayer way! You can make that a reality this Thursday, 13 Nov on Good Neighbour Day. At 7.15pm, come gather at your void deck or office lobby to pray and bless our city, along with other members from different LoveSingapore churches. Bring along the ‘Operation Blessing 7:15’ event booklet (available within the 8 and 9 November 2008 church bulletin) with you, and wear the special ID sticker found inside the booklet for identification.
LoveSingapore is also collecting testimonies for this time of prayer. So do take time to share your experience or any impressions you may have received from the Lord by emailing it with a photo or two to visioncity@pacific.net.sg.

Sharing 'My Hope' this Christmas
For Christmas this year, FCBC is taking part in ‘My Hope’, alongside over 240 other local churches, to usher those around us into the Kingdom of God! This is based on the same worldwide evangelistic effort initiated by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) in 2002. ‘My Hope’ is an outreach effort that uses the video medium to spread the gospel message. The result has been overwhelming – more than 9 million people, in more than 40 countries, have given their lives to Jesus Christ!
As we will be running this in our cells this Christmas, there is a need for all cell leaders to be familiar with the material. The training details for all Youth leaders are below:
Date: 5 Nov 08 (Wed)
Time: 7.30pm
Venue: TOUCH Community Theatre
The videos (available in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese) and materials will be distributed to individuals and cell groups before December through the networks. E-INVITE the rest of our family to participate in this mega year-end harvest event today!

Happy 22nd Anniversary, FCBC!
FCBC turned 22 years old on 17 Aug 2008. It's kind of hard to imagine that it's been so long and that we have gone through so much as a church. From a rented auditorium at SLF building, we have since moved to Touch Centre, added a new premises at Touch Community Theatre and finally made the BIG Move to Expo Max Pavilion. Somehow when I think back, it doesn't seem that long ago when I was a 13-year-old cell member trying to figure out what cell group was all about. Then at 15 years old, I led by first cell group and began my journey wondering what being a cell leader was all about. Today, the challenges are not altogether new, as I still continue to learn what it means to be a disciple-maker.
As I thought through my life being part of FCBC for the past 18 years, I realised that being part of this family had influenced me a great deal to become who I am today. The experiences, the memories, the relationships, they all make up what FCBC means to me. It's funny how we sang Happy Birthday to FCBC during Youth service last week. For a moment, it felt as if we were celebrating the entity called FCBC. But FCBC is just a name. By itself, it is a non-living thing. The thing that makes FCBC alive is its people, the people who make up this family-in-christ. We were not celebrating someone else. We were celebrating our lives together! ... [+]
As I thought about the years to come, what FCBC would be like 10, 20 years down the road, I realised that I could not think of it as if our church was a growing organism on its own. It isn't. FCBC 10 years on, would be pretty much what we decide to make it. And that's the beauty of it. We are not outsiders watching a show unfold. We are the actors of the show! We each have a part to play to become the people of God He desires us to be! That is what it means for FCBC to fulfill it's calling - if we, the people who make up the church fulfill our calling in Chirst! Hence, as you read SP's thoughts on FCBC's Defining Moment, I encourage you to read it from a personal capacity too, as God's challenge and call to transformation for your own life. Then, let's look forward to greater days in the future. As a family, as a church, as FCBC, a people of God committed to His destiny for our lives.
On our 22nd Anniversary, I believe that God is leading our church into a new phase of our ministry - God will use us, together with the other LoveSingapore churches, to effect transformation in Singapore. God gave me a prophecy for the LoveSingapore churches. And I believe FCBC will play a pivotal role in the next seven years in seeing God bring major changes to our nation. I have included this prophecy for you, so that FCBC will rise up to fulfil God’s destiny for us.
GOD’S HEART FOR SINGAPORE
“This is a defining moment for Singapore. We are entering into seven years of the Lord’s abundant blessing for His people in this nation. The Lord is about to do more than we have ever seen in our history of transforming Singapore in the coming seven years. God is leading Singapore into her divine destiny.
Yet this defining moment is also a moment of decision. Our destiny lies in the choice we will make as God’s people. The devil wants to distort and frustrate God’s purpose for us. God has brought the foreigners to us, so that they too, can be a part of our destiny as the Antioch of Asia. If the church of Jesus Christ arises as one people, committed to fulfil God’s destiny for our nation, these foreigners in our midst will put their roots here, and make this land, their land, this home, their home, and enter into the spiritual destiny and inheritance of this land with us as one people.
If every leader of God’s people in Singapore will be committed, not just to build his or her own church or congregation, but be committed to build God’s kingdom in this land, the values of God’s kingdom will penetrate into every fibre of our society. However, if we fail to make the right choice, if we decide to be sectarian in our attitude, and if we just focus on how we can grow our own church or denomination, we as a nation will lose this destiny of being the Antioch of Asia. The foreigners in our midst will remain as foreigners, using us as stepping stones to greener pastures. The true blue Singaporeans will lose their identity, and they too will leave this nation, abandoning their dreams and forfeiting their divine destiny. The future of this nation is in the hands of God’s people.
This is a defining moment for LoveSingapore to rise up again, and with a strong national agenda in transforming our land. God had shown us in the past what we could do together when we unite and seek only to build His kingdom. God had shown us in the last seven years that, where unity had eroded, and where the vision had not been clear and strong, the spiritual and moral fibres of society began to degenerate.
It is the time for a national agenda to transform our nation, and to align our people to God’s destiny. LoveSingapore is about being a catalyst in spurring God’s people to fulfil God’s national agenda for the nation. Only when this national agenda of transformation is fulfilled then can we realise God’s destiny for us in Asia, and around the world.
This 43rd National Day ushers us into a seven-year season that will bring Singapore to her 50th Anniversary. It could become a Year of Spiritual Jubilee for God’s kingdom in Singapore, or it could become a year of frustrated dreams and unfulfilled destiny.
May God humble and enable us, with brokenness before Him, to cry out for His mercy and grace. May the Lord impart upon us a fire from heaven to have, not only a heart of compassion to win the lost, but also a heart of passion to see our nation transform into the Kingdom of God. May the Lord unite our hearts together, to embrace God’s heart for this nation.”

Jesus is RISEN!
Local authorities baffled; religious heads have no explanation. The strong earthquake that struck in the early morning damaged more than just homes and injured civilians. Local authorities have revealed that it also affected the area near the grave of recently buried Jesus Christ.
In their short statement to the press, they have reported that the huge boulder used to seal the tomb was dislodged by the earthquake, and it appeared that the body is now missing from its resting place.
When interviewed, one of the special Roman guards posted to secure the tomb said sheepishly, "His disciples might have come during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."
Local authorities have yet to rule out foul play, though no arrests have been reported so far. Neither the chief priests nor the council members could be reached for comment at press time.
The authorities are now urging anyone that has seen the body of Jesus to report back to them.
For full story, please see Matthew 27:57 - 28:15.

Make a date with Nick Vujicic
On the morning of 4th Dec 1982, something miraculous happened in Melbourne, Australia. Nick Vujicic was born into a Christian family, his father, a pastor of a local church. The only shock was this - he was born without limbs. The doctors had no explanation for this and did not even expect it. It was a trying time for Nick's parents. They asked God all the WHYs and HOWs and questioned if God was a loving God, how could he ever allow something like that to happen, especially to a couple who loved God deeply. Naturally, they didn't think their son would survive long, but here's where the miracle was only starting to unfold itself. Nick was a healthy baby despite the lack of his limbs.
In time, Nick's parents and Nick himself overcame the fear and anger in their lives. Today, Nick is a 25-year-old motivational speaker who speaks in both Christian and non-Christian venues. He has a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Financial Planning and Accounting and loves to swim, fish and play soccer.
I tell you seriously, I had goose bumps all the way reading his testimony which you can find here. So often, I question my purpose in this world. I wonder how in my weaknesses, God can use me. I grumble and complain - if only I was more like this or have more of that. I failed to realise that if God allowed things to happen, He only knew better. I failed to see that God was moulding me and preparing me so that he could use me in a way that only I could fulfill. I chose to see the humanly unsurmountable challenges in my life without knowing the reality of God's power and victory in overcoming them. As I read Nick's testimony, I knew in my heart - If God is able to use a person like Nick in such drastic circumstances, surely I am no exception.
I leave you with this excerpt from Nick's testimony that totally flamed my heart.
Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the best for those who love Him."
That verse spoke to my heart and convicted me to the point where that I know that there is no such thing as luck, chance or coincidence that these "bad" things happen in our life. In;
James 1:3&4 - "...know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
I had complete peace knowing that God won't let anything happen to us in our life unless He has a good purpose for it all. I completely gave my life to Christ at the age of fifteen after reading John 9. Jesus said that the reason the man was born blind was "so that the works of God may be revealed through Him." I truly believed that God would heal me so I could be a great testimony of His Awesome Power. Later on I was given the wisdom to understand that if we pray for something, if it's God's will, it'll happen in His time. If it's not God's will for it to happen, then I know that He has something better. I now see that Glory revealed as He is using me just the way I am and in ways others can't be used.
Nick will be coming to our Youth service to speak on 2 Dec 07. I believe his sharing is going to touch many lives for God. Take this opportunity to invite all your friends. I think this is a great opportunity for all the SLTC people to invite their open cell people too. Start getting the word out today!
Now, seat back and watch this. May it minister to you.

My reflection from the JP’s Seminar
I was blessed!
I had not cried so much for so long.
It was not tears of sadness nor self pity.
It was not tears of loss nor lack.
It was tears of knowing Jesus afresh.
I never knew Jesus in the level that she did.
I never knew grace and compassion so deeply. I never knew….
I found myself …
so shallow in my knowledge of God,
so superficial in my understanding of Grace,
so simple in my concept of incarnation.
I had been so careful in my affection that I had taught myself not to care at all.
I had been so “wise” in my investment of love that I did not love at all.
Sigh… Such paradox of mindset… so important to think biblically.
But I am thankful.
Thankful that God sent Jackie to SCREAM
wisdom into my soul,
insight into my mind and
compassion into my heart.
I have been revived.
My heart has been softened towards God and His people.
My mind is clearer about what truly matters.
My soul yields for more of Him.
I will move on…
not quickly to respond to the rhema word,
not immediately to do something,
not instantly… WHY? (Read on...)
I have learnt to move at His pace and space.
I have come to realize how easier to move in the fresh again.
God does not need my speed…
He wants my soul!
God does not need my action alone .. He wants my compassion in it.
Thus, I want to center down and distill His specific word to Chua Seng Lee.
I want to run my race which God has marked out for me.
I don’t want to run the race of others.
I don’t want to be 2nd in their race.
I want to be 1st in my race – God’s race for me.
In summary, the 3 most important learning that I have made:
1. Serve the Poor because Jesus had chosen to be poor and broken.
- God’s call to remember the poor; Gal 2:10
- Ministry to the Poor is not dependent on budget.
- It is about exercising the heart of Jesus in us; don’t give handouts…give myself...
- Don’t shut my heart to their cry.
- We serve not because the poor can change or pay us back. We give because Jesus gave.
2. Ministry of Incarnation;
- Jesus came and met needs personally. Not through a medium or agent; otherwise He could have send a video!
- Words are cheap. It must be backed up with action; don’t tell someone to take a break unless I am prepared to fill their place.
- Power through human weakness/brokenness; 1 Cor 1:22-24. End of our human hearts is the beginning of His heart.
- If you don’t forgive, you don’t know God… If you don’t serve the poor, you don’t know God… If you don’t imitate Christ, you don’t know Christ; Prov 21:13
- Death in the giver before life to the receiver! It is a biblical model in ministry; 2 Cor 4:10
- Sow Kindness > Soul Hunter. Go to love and not to complete a target.
3. Issue of difficult times – issue of direction;
- We need to know where we come from and
- Where we are and
- Where we are going.
Application
1. Why do I serve/give?
I serve and give because Someone has served and given to me.
2. How do I serve/give?
Not from the mind alone. More importantly, from my heart (His heart in me) to love one person at a time.
3. Where do I serve/give?
It starts from where I am… Do I know the “poor” around me?
4. What is serving and giving?
It is doing what Jesus would.
5. When is the time to serve?
Anytime, every time.
6. Who do I serve?
The next person I meet.

Run out of heart
Jackie Pullinger asked, ‘Run out of heart lately?’
Can one ever understand what it means as much as Miss Poon?
Lay Leng, have you run out of heart? (No comparison. Run my own race.)
Have I run out of heart lately?
I have not used even half of it!
I was busy with discouragement and less-than-half-heartedness.
Convicted to love God more.
How?
Through acts of kindness, diligently and whole-heartedly.
As a counsellor, I have plenty of opportunities. My clients are God’s creations. Special. With needs.
Will they see Jesus in me?
I recall Jeremiah 12:5 – “If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?”
If I have not been faithful in the little things in Singapore, how can I serve God in other nations?

Jackie Pullinger @ FCBC
Jackie Pullinger’s life is indeed a testimony of how God will use a life wholly surrendered to Him. Impeccably, an inspiring woman; she didn’t share mere vivid, heart-wrenching and encouraging stories of dug addicts and the poor. She shared her burning passion with such induced conviction.
The hearts of those who heard here were ministered. Blessed with a renewed compassion for the poor and a conviction that we cannot simply walk by the next time we see someone in need. 3 of Kenneth’s 12 share their reflections.
Daniel Wong Li-En
Learning: Sometimes we do have a “soul hunter’s” attitude in reaching out to the lost—especially when we are always focused on the multitudes—but Jackie reminded us that we are to show love not because people will change or are guaranteed to turn to Jesus, but simply because God has first loved us so much. It was new way of looking at things for me, too, when Jackie spoke about us not having any rights in this life at all—except death. Our finances, our abilities and our time, all these are but gifts from God; we are never to treat them as if they are our rights.
Application: The “Ministry with the Poor” conference was a huge blessing to me, and I pray that we will not simply allow our attitudes to be changed without us taking action to make ministering with the poor a way of life.
Ernest Fu Check Chung
Learning: To her, ministry with the poor is not a professional ministry but a way of life and an attitude of the heart. She cares for every lost and poor that she comes across and every one of them matters to her – She truly has a heart that is reflective of God’s own. Giving is in the heart of Jesus and when we give, we exercise the heart of Jesus. We all can help the needy and the poor around us. We all have something to give and it can just be simple acts of kindness to a person that you know in need of help. Sharing the gospel and winning the world for Christ starts by simply doing these simple acts.
Application: There is a Saviour for every lost person. God has placed each of us in our workplace/study place and that lost person might only be reached by you. Dear family, let us know this not only in our minds and hearts, but practice what we know as well.
Jedidiah Sent K J
Learning: If I didn’t forgive someone, I probably never understood nor believed in a God who forgives. If I didn’t give/serve the poor, I probably didn’t know our Jesus. Moreover, giving had to do with the heart of Jesus. We were meant to just exercise His heart. If we lacked His heart, we could ask for His grace to help us with our deficient. He would FILL us up AS we go. It was all about God’s heart. The poor was always in His heart.
Application: “Treat one poor man, as if he is Jesus!” she cried out. That is what Jesus wanted us to do as well, even if it was just a cup of water. The Lord reminded me of the tissue lady opposite Heeran. Probably it’s the right time to start serving her, as if she was Jesus.

Blown Away and Into the Vision
Reflection from G12 Conference 2007
I sat up! Pastor Eugene's first slide was causing havoc in my heart, sending ripples of excitement. Genesis 15 verses 1 to 6! You see, Genesis 15:1 is the verse God gave me for 2007. He has promised me that He is my shield, my very Great Reward. Immediately, the Holy Spirit opened my heart to listen to God speak through Pastor Eugene. I found myself gripped to the words flowing from the man who has himself 'caught the spirit'.
During the first two days of the conference, God was already ministering to my heart big-time about having the compassion of the Lord. As I reflected on my first 2 weeks of practicum as a beginning counselor, I was convicted that I was applying clinical skills without a compassionate heart. So I repented and really asked the Lord to fill me with His compassion.
Behold, the speakers at the conference focused on the compassion of the Lord so much it certainly blew me away. So, when Pastor Eugene spoke on having a heart for the multitudes, touching the multitudes, reaching the multitudes, I was ready to run to the altar. I was ready to enter the vision.
God is helping me see beyond my calling as a counselor. He has more in store! This confirms the word Pastor Seng Lee released to me before I began my practicum. That God has something more for me besides being an effective counselor.
At the altar, the Lord poured out His compassion. I mean, He really poured. I wept and wept uncontrollably, as I receive the outpouring of His anointing. I simply kept drinking. Then one sister-in-Christ, whom I met for the first time, prayed and affirmed the Lord's words. That I am God's mouthpiece of hope, speaking life to the people around me, out of an abundant heart of compassion. Praise the Lord!
I walked away from the conference embracing the God of the vision, and I will walk back to school a renewed counselor. Over and above those counseling theories of therapy is the Counselor Himself Who will be with me. Besides, the Covenant Giver Who never breaks His promises shall fulfill my destiny.
What an incredible God we serve!

Now, who's going to chia jiak???
Last Wednesday was FCBC's AGM and the SJ24 turned up in full force to listen to SP give a report of our church and its community ministries. SP reported that last year was a good year for FCBC financially as we had the highest collection in many years. Thank God for His provision as we continue to obey Him and build His Kingdom!
What was more significant that day was that it was the first time that pastor was going to introduce his 12 to SP for the very first time! What a privilege for us indeed! SP took the time to hear from each of us (Imagine Daniel: "Hi, My name is Daniel, I'm your son.") and then prayed a blessing for us as a tribe. (Read on...)
It was a significant moment for many of us and I believe I speak for many of us when I say that we have a greater conviction than ever to live our lives right before the Lord and to walk in obedience. May God's Kingdom be expanded many folds as we respond in obedience to serve Him and walk in righteousness with Him! Guys, May the Lion of Judah roar in our lives greater than ever before, Amen!

Rising up to PREACH!
Reflection from G12 Conference 2007
Honestly speaking I was not really looking forward to this year's G12 conference when the registration just opened. After attending it for the past 2 years, I thought I had already known what G12 is all about so did not really see the need for me to go again. The last prayer meeting totally changed my thoughts. The conference was not just for us, but more importantly it’s for the delegates! It’s something that FCBC is proud of, and we as members should be even more excited to be going there to hear God’s word right?
Helping out as the technical crew (video), I was not able to fully concentrate in hearing the messages throughout the whole conference. But nevertheless, there was still big ‘take-home’!
Firstly, it’s the passion to preach! Seeing the different speakers up on stage, and the foreign delegates anticipating to hear from each one of them, I caught the spirit of preaching! The world out there needs someone to tell them who Jesus is! And that leads me to think about how I am going to carry this destiny.
So comes to my second catch and that is to “jump into it!” Many times we stand at the edge of what God wants us to do, thinking of this, considering that. We think of all the things in the world that would stop us! But God is just telling us “jump into it!” Is God smaller than the things and people around you? NO! When God says “GO”, He will make sure that the path is opened, and send the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead us!
Looking forward to G12 conference 2008! :D

Becoming a Warrior Princess
Reflection from G12 Conference 2007
A Revelation of the Cross – this is what I have been asking Him for. To have a passion for Jesus seared deep into my soul and spirit. To know what it is like as Ps Claudia shared, “When I was born into the ministry, it was like the sun was shining on my face, and I knew my purpose”.
Sure, I’ve had over the years many precious moments of experiencing His love and reality. Yet… I know there is so much MORE to life and being a child of God. I have not yet experienced that face-to-face encounter with the Almighty, the POWER life-transforming kind so boldly asked for and fully embraced by Ps Caesar. How terrifying AND glorious it would be! There’s a growing dissatisfaction in my spirit with where I am in the ministry. Oh, to know the perfect love that casts out ALL fear! To know that my life is not my own!
At the G12 conference, during an altar call when I rushed forward to the stage, I caught a glimpse in my mind’s eye of Jesus’ work on the Cross – As I closed my eyes, I saw before me a pair of hands clasped together with fingers pointed downwards, with blood dripping down from them. It was the blood of Jesus – the Lamb of God! I felt that every drop was so precious; every drop was needed to be shed to pay for my sins, that I may have eternal life. Romans 8:32 came to mind, “He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all – how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?” I felt the Father’s love gently enveloping me.. But I’m not satisfied. I know this is but a foretaste of MORE blessings of revelations from God.
At the conference, I also had a little revelation of His heart not just for me, but for the body of Christ – His church. And not just FCBC, but the universal body of Christ. I felt my heart enlarged with - just a snippet of - His vision for the whole world – the redemption of all mankind. (Continued...)
I am reminded that the bride of Jesus is not just an individual, but all the members of the body of Christ. And like a bride on her wedding day, she is the centre of attraction, wow-ing people with her beauty, the white splendour of her wedding gown and her joyful radiance. Similarly, God has chosen the church - Christians from every nation, tongue and tribe - that through her beauty and holiness, mankind will be attracted and led to the Saviour. (Read Book of Revelation chapters 19 and 22 for more!). Therefore, I live not only to please Him in my personal walk and in my circle of influence, but I also have a part to play in his BIG GLOBAL redemption plan for the nations! (Theme of G12 conference – Light to the nations!)
Wanna share the lyrics of a worship song, on my personal “Top 20” list since my late teens. it’s such a beautiful, heart-felt ALL-OR-NOTHING song – not to be sung flippantly!
I long to be the bride that You’re returning for
Dressed in garments white and wrinkle-free
I have no earthly love that I am holding to
For You’re the one who means everything to me
You are the faithful God who keeps Your covenants
There’s not one thing You’ve said You haven’t done
And someday when I see You standing face to face
My praise for You will only have begun
I will sing, I will worship You
I will bow myself down humbly at Your throne
And I will give everything
I will give anything
To You alone
Cami, His Warrior Princess (in-training!)
God graciously gave me a vision last Nov, where He called me a Warrior Princess. I believe the name means:
Daughter of the Most High King, reigning with Him = Princess.
Soldier of the LORD of Hosts, Yahweh of armies, conquering with Him = Warrior
